Services
Initial Evaluation
Speech and Language Evaluation
-
Used to make a diagnosis of a speech and/or language impairment. Will determine your child's strengths and areas of communicative need.
-
May include a parent interview, obtaining medical history, standardized testing, and observations of your child in the natural setting.
-
Testing typically takes 1-4 hours depending on areas of concern.
-
Once the assessment is completed, you will receive an evaluation report that identifies areas of need and targeted goals for your child.
Re-Evaluation
Required every year
-
Necessary to update present levels of functioning, determine progress on goals written 6-12 months prior, establish new recommendations, and provide updated goals.
6-Month Progress Reports
Optional (unless using Insurance)
-
After a child has received services for 6-months, a review of progress and proposed new goals may be provided. This service is recommended, but optional. If using insurance, some insurance companies may require a progress report in order to continue funding services.
Treatment
Speech and Language Therapy
This is where the "magic" happens! I wish I could wave a magic wand and say "your child's communication is cured!" but that's just not reality! With hard work, practice, and use of strategies, we will see results. My expectations for clients is to always work hard and we will have fun!

Treatment will be provided in the clinic, in-home, at your child's school, or virtually. In some unique cases (typically my clients with selective mutism), treatment may be provided in the community.
Parents are welcome to be as involved as you would like in therapy. I welcome you to see how I conduct therapy with your child. If you can learn from what I do and practice with your child even after your child leaves, that will often lead to faster outcomes.
